Roster Management Enhancements

Creating and Updating Roles in CRM

Admins can configure Align to manage the role hierarchy in CRM. In CRM, users are organized into hierarchies based on their assigned role, which automatically grant managers visibility to the data used by their team members. In Align, this hierarchy is typically determined by the hierarchy of the territory that roster members are assigned to. By enabling Align to manage the role hierarchy in CRM to mirror the territory hierarchy, the user hierarchy is consistent across both platforms.

Territory Enhancements

Geography Rollups

Align admins can now create custom rollups using the geography__aln object as the target, enabling greater flexibility when creating these fields.

All operators, field types, and sources available for custom rollups are available for geography rollups.

For example, the Align admin wants to display the total sales potential of a geography. The admin creates a Custom Rollup for the geography__aln object, adding all proper criteria, and adds the field representing the metric to the page layout. Total Sales Potential now displays on geography records, so the information is quickly referenced.

See Custom Rollups for more information on how to create custom rollups and see here for an example on how to make a custom geography rollup.

User Visible and Behavior Changes

Most new features require some configuration, however users are able to view the following changes immediately:

Roster Management

  • Admins must now assign a time zone to Align-mastered roster members using the crm_timezone__aln field in the CRM User Management section. The available values of this field correspond directly to the values in CRM.

Targeting Rule Enhancements

  • Expanded sections of a targeting rule now remain expanded when admins select the Edit button to edit a targeting rule
  • When an admin saves or cancels an edit of an existing rule, the View page of that rule now displays

Territory Enhancements

  • Admins can now create custom mappings for the postal_code__aln and brick__aln fields on the address__aln object. These fields map by default to the Zip_vod and Brick_vod fields, respectively.
