Updates to Managing Users in Align
To provide admins with greater control over managing users in Align, the configuration and integration process for User Management is updated. Customers who previously configured User Management in Align do not need to take further action to maintain the existing integration with CRM.
Align instances are automatically migrated to this new process, which includes updates to the values of the manage_crm_users__aln picklist on the veeva_crm_org__aln object:
- Enabled – Added
- Disabled – Maintained
- Manage CRM Users – Removed
- Manage CRM Users and Roles Hierarchy – Removed
If either users__aln or users_and_roles__aln were selected prior to the migration, the manage_crm_users__aln picklist automatically updates to enabled__aln and groups, profiles, and permission sets import from CRM into Align.
The selection of the two removed picklist values are reflected in the new manage_crm_features__aln multi-select picklist:

Permission set assignments and role management can be deactivated by removing the corresponding values from the manage_crm_features__aln multi-select picklist.

User Management
Assigning Permission Sets to Individual Roster Members
To support individual business requirements for users who require additional permissions than their assigned functional profile, admins can assign permission sets directly to individual roster members.
Managing Public Groups from CRM
Admins can manage Public Group membership in Align via associations with functional profiles, enabling admins to avoid performing these actions in CRM.
